Sarkari Syllabus 2026-27: All Syllabus and Exam Pattern in One List

Most people start preparing from a book or a coaching note and only later find out that half of it is not in the exam. The syllabus is the one paper that tells you what the board really wants, so it is the first thing to read and the last thing to forget. This page keeps every syllabus and exam pattern posted on SarkariResult10th in one list, newest first, and each title opens a post with the topics and the link to the official PDF.

If you know what you are looking for, use the boxes near the top. Type boxes (exam pattern, prelims, mains, subject wise and so on) help when you want one particular stage or subject, and department boxes (Railway, Bank, SSC, Police and others) help when you follow one recruiting body. The list under the boxes changes with your choice, and the date tag next to a title shows when we posted it.

How to Read a Syllabus Before You Start Studying

  1. Open the official syllabus PDF from the post and read it once from top to bottom without making any notes. The idea is only to see the size of the work.
  2. Read the exam pattern next: number of questions, marks, time, negative marking and whether any paper is only qualifying. A qualifying paper still has to be cleared.
  3. Copy every topic into your own list, one line per topic. Tick the ones you have studied before, and mark the rest as new.
  4. Count the days you have, and give more days to the subjects that carry more marks and to those where you are weak. Do not divide the days equally just because it looks tidy.
  5. Collect the last few years' papers and see which topics are asked again and again. Study those first.
  6. Revise the list every week. A topic that you ticked a month ago and never touched again is not really finished.

Exam Pattern Words Explained

Negative marking

A part of the marks of a question is cut for every wrong answer, usually one fourth or one third. If you are not sure and cannot cut at least two options, leaving the question is often wiser than guessing.

Sectional time limit

Some exams give a fixed time for each section, and you cannot go back after it ends. You must practise finishing each section within its time, even if some questions are left.

Qualifying paper

A paper whose marks are not added to the merit but in which you must get the minimum marks fixed by the board. Language and computer papers are commonly of this kind, and people who ignore them can lose a selection they have otherwise earned.

Tier and stage

Many recruitments have more than one stage, such as Tier 1, Tier 2 and a skill test. The syllabus of each stage is different, and only some of the stages may count in the final merit.

Cut-off

The lowest mark that gets a candidate through in a category. It is decided after the exam, and it changes with the difficulty of the paper and the number of applicants, so last year's cut-off is only a rough guide.

Common Mistakes in Preparation

  • Studying from an old book without checking whether the syllabus has changed. Boards add and remove topics, and a chapter that is gone is time wasted.
  • Spending weeks on a difficult topic that carries one or two marks, and leaving easy topics of five or six marks half done.
  • Reading a lot but never solving a full paper under a timer. The exam is a test of speed as well as of knowledge.
  • Leaving current affairs for the last month. It is better to read a little every day than a lot in one go.
  • Ignoring the physical, typing or skill stage till the written result is out.

Where to Get the Official Syllabus

The syllabus is always given in the detailed notification or on a separate syllabus page of the official website, and this is the copy that counts. Each post here gives the direct link, so you do not need to search for it. Do not trust a syllabus that comes in a message or a video without a link to the official site. These are often copied from an older year and may have mistakes.

Common Questions

How do I know that the syllabus I am reading is the latest one?

Check the year or the notification number written in the post and compare it with the notice on the official site. If the board has changed the pattern, we add the word Revised or New in the title. When in doubt, the official PDF is the last word.

Is the syllabus the same every year?

Mostly yes, but not always. Boards change the number of questions, the marking or a few topics from time to time, and a new notification can bring a new pattern. Read the syllabus again every time a fresh notification is out, even if you have prepared for the same exam before.

Do I need to study all the topics in the syllabus?

You should at least go through all of them once. After that, give more time to the topics that are asked often and carry more marks. Skipping a whole subject completely is risky, especially when there is a sectional cut-off.

Where can I find previous year papers?

Many posts here link to previous and model papers along with the syllabus. The official sites of some boards also keep their old papers, though not every board does.

Do you charge anything for syllabus?

No. Reading the posts is free and we do not take money for syllabus, forms or results.
