About PhD and Research 2026-27
Admission to PhD and MPhil programmes of universities and research institutes, usually through an entrance test, a research proposal and an interview.
One thing to remember: A clear research proposal and a supervisor who agrees to guide you matter as much as the test score. Write to the department early.
Sarkari Admission 2026-27: Admission Forms, Entrance Exams and Counselling in One List
Getting a seat in the right course is a long process with many small steps: the entrance form, the exam, the result, the counselling, the document check and the fee. Each step has its own last date, and missing one of them can cost a whole year. This page keeps every admission notice posted on SarkariResult10th in one list, newest first, for school, intermediate, graduation, postgraduation, diploma, engineering, medical, law and many other courses. Each title opens a post with the eligibility, the dates, the fee and the link to the official site.
Use the boxes near the top to narrow the list. The type boxes (class 11, UG, PG, diploma, engineering, medical, counselling and so on) help when you know your course, the department boxes help when you follow one kind of institute, and the state boxes show the admissions of your own state. Where we have saved the last date, it shows next to the title, and it changes to Closed once the date is over.
How the Admission Process Usually Works
- Choose the course. Decide the stream or the course before the forms open. Read what the course teaches, how long it is and what kind of work it leads to.
- Check the eligibility. Look at the minimum marks, the subjects you must have studied, the age limit and the category rules. A form filled by someone who is not eligible is rejected, and the fee is not returned.
- Fill the form. Register on the official site, fill the details as in your marksheet, upload the documents and pay the fee. Take a printout of the final form.
- Appear in the entrance test, if there is one. Some courses take admission on the marks of the last exam, and some on an entrance test. The notice says which one applies.
- Counselling. After the result, you fill your choices of college and course in order of preference. The seat is given on the basis of your rank, your category and the seats left in each round.
- Document check and fee. Go to the reporting centre or upload the documents online, and pay the admission fee in the days given. If you do not report in time, the seat is cancelled.
Documents Usually Needed
- Marksheets and pass certificates of class 10 and class 12, and of graduation for a PG course.
- Admit card and rank card or score card of the entrance test.
- Transfer certificate or migration certificate, and a character certificate where the college asks for it.
- Caste, income and domicile certificates, where you claim a reservation or a state quota.
- Aadhaar card, passport size photographs and signature.
- For some courses, a medical fitness certificate, a gap certificate or a sports certificate.
Counselling Words Explained
Choice filling
The step in which you list the courses and the colleges you want, in the order you want them. The system looks at your rank, and gives you the first choice on the list for which a seat is free. The order of the list is therefore the most important thing in the whole process.
Seat allotment and reporting
The allotment result tells you which seat you got. It is not an admission till you report at the college or confirm online and pay the fee, in the days given.
Rounds, spot round and mop-up
Counselling usually runs in two or three rounds, and then a spot or mop-up round fills the seats that are still empty. Some counselling systems let you try for a better seat in the next round, and some do not, so read the rule of your counselling.
Cut-off and merit list
The cut-off is the lowest rank or marks with which a seat was given in a round. A merit list is the list of students arranged by marks or rank. Last year's cut-off is only a rough guide, as it changes with the number of applicants and the difficulty of the paper.
Security deposit and refund
Many counselling systems take a deposit that is returned only if you leave the process in the time allowed. The rule is different for each of them, so read the refund clause before you accept a seat.
Common Mistakes in Admission
- Filling the form on the last day, when the site is slow and a failed payment cannot be tried again.
- Choosing the college first and the course later. The course decides your next four years more than the name of the college does.
- Not keeping a safe choice in the list. Put a few options that you are sure of at the end of your choice list.
- Missing the reporting date after the allotment. The seat goes to the next student, and it does not come back.
- Taking admission in a course or an institute that is not recognised by the proper council or the UGC. It becomes a problem when you apply for a job or a higher course.
Fake Admission Offers
Every year, some students lose money to agents who promise a "direct admission", a management quota seat in a government college, or a seat without an entrance test. A seat in a government college is given only through the counselling of the official body. If someone asks you for money outside the official fee, or asks you to send it to a personal account, stay away. Check the college on the website of the UGC, AICTE or the proper council before you pay anything, and pay only through the official portal. Nobody connected with SarkariResult10th will ask you for money for admission.

Common Questions
Do I need an entrance exam for every course?
No. Many courses, especially at the school, intermediate and ordinary degree level, give admission on the marks of your last exam. Professional courses like engineering, medical, law and management usually need an entrance test. The notice of the course tells you which way applies.
Can I apply to more than one college or counselling?
Yes, in most cases. You can fill forms of many colleges and many states. But for each counselling you have to follow its own dates, and some counselling systems do not allow you to hold a seat in two places. Read the rules of each.
What if I miss the last date?
Most boards do not take a form after the last date, and extensions are not a certainty. When a date is extended, the post on this page is updated, but it is better to plan as if it will not be.
Is the admission fee refundable?
It depends on the institute and the counselling. Many give a full or a part refund if you withdraw before a fixed date, and keep a small amount as a processing fee. The refund rule is always written in the notice or the prospectus.
Do you charge anything for admission information?
No. Reading the posts is free and we do not take money for admissions, forms or results.
