GSL is looking to recruit flexible staff to work as Teaching Assistants in the new academic year, at mainstream primary schools in and around the Manchester area. You will be required to work with children from the age of 0 years, right the way up to 10 years.

As no one pupil is the same you will be required to tailor your support to each and every child. Catering for the differing learning abilities, language barriers and in some instances, you may be required to support more than just academically.

You will ensure that you help pupils by promoting confidence, maturity, and independence too. Your role as Teaching Assistant will typically begin at 8.30 am, and you will support the class teacher and/or an assigned pupil throughout their school day until 3.30 pm.
In the classroom.

You will ensure that the pupil or groups that you are assigned to are interacting and socializing appropriately, that they understand the work or activity and their behavior is appropriate for the environment they are in. 

Any experience in education or childcare is extremely welcome as well as any SEN experience. Your attitude needs to be enthusiastic and non-judgemental, with a passion for care and supporting children’s development.

You will need to be patient and calm, but also conscientious as attention to detail is key for the well-being of the students. Please be aware all applicants MUST have a child-only workforce DBS, which is registered to the update system, or be willing to apply for one.
