Job description

Are you a proactive, innovative, and inspiring Finnish education specialist who would love to help teachers and school leaders around the world in their professional development journeys? With this ongoing recruitment.

We are now looking for more people to join our consultancy pool of trainers to help us with teacher and leadership training when needed.  We work with our partner schools all around the world, with new schools opening soon in Brazil, the USA, Spain, and the Middle East.

We also offer on-demand and bespoke training and consultancy for K-12 schools. The key responsibility of a trainer is to provide training for our partner schools and customers according to New Nordic Schools’ training programs.

Our trainers guide the learners to actively shape their own professional identity and help them build confidence in creating a learning culture where everyone can flourish and thrive. By the Finnish curriculums for early childhood education and basic education.

In early childhood education, the focus is on play pedagogy and children’s holistic wellbeing. Our basic education trainers help to equip the teachers with skills that they need with lesson planning, and student assessment.

And guiding students through phases of interdisciplinary units of learning. In our leadership training, we train the school leaders on themes like positive leadership, pedagogical leadership, and systems thinking.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Delivering training (online, hybrid & on-site) according to the New Nordic Schools training program and guidelines
  • Foster positive professional identity of learners, growth mindset, and holistic wellbeing approach in training
  • Monitor and assess learner progress through verbal and written feedback linked to learning objectives
  • Helping further develop our program and guidelines

Job requirements

To succeed in this role, the minimum expectations are:

  • Communicating clearly and effectively in both oral and written English language
  • Practical and hands-on approach to training; helping our client schools overcome their challenges
  • Basic knowledge of the Finnish pedagogy and culture in early childhood education, basic education, and/or school leadership
  • Establishing and maintaining positive, respectful relationships with others
  • Planning, preparing, and managing training independently addressing a diversity of learner backgrounds and readiness
  • Ability to travel abroad to deliver F2F training and another on-site consultancy.

We are thrilled if you have most of the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Cultural awareness and some experience working in international teams or projects
  • Minimum one-year full-time teaching and/or school leadership experience, preferably from Finland
  • Experience working and teaching in collaborative teams
  • Experience training adults and facilitating workshops

Knowledge of:

  • Instructional techniques both online and on-site
  • Online facilitation platforms (Zoom, Meet, Teams) and experience in using digital collaboration tools
  • A range of assessment strategies and learning activities.
