Job Description

The Network Engineer is responsible for ensuring the smooth running of AJMNs Network Infrastructure both in Doha and globally to ensure optimal performance and security.

You will work in a fast-paced, highly collaborative team and deal with network failures, security attacks, system outages, etc. You will perform activities such as remote support, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Installing, configuring, and maintaining LAN/WAN infrastructure services, applications, and equipment.
• This includes but is not limited to routers, switches, and wireless controllers/access points.
• IP/Video endpoints, collaboration servers, voice gateways, analog gateways, network load balancers, and security appliances such as FW/IPS, and Network Admission Control.
• Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hotfixes, and security configurations to ensure optimal operations.
• Operate, support, and provision services on the Global Fiber Network.
• Proactively monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
• Proactively monitor device and system resource utilization, trends, and infrastructure capacity.
• Undertake capacity management and auditing of network configuration.
• Provide Level‐2 support and troubleshooting to resolve operational issues.
• Identify and resolve faults, incidents, problems, service requests and change requests from the AJMN Service Desk in a professional manner to agreed service levels.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to perform network optimization activities and root‐cause analysis.
• Interact with end‐users in person, via email, and phone for initial troubleshooting and capturing requirements.
• Perform site surveys and coordinate with wiring vendors, in support of various wiring projects and installations.
• Manages and handles complex problems by thinking out of the box to resolve problems within the stipulated time to ensure the successful and smooth running of operations.
• Comply with the change management policies to ensure that routine, comprehensive, and emergency changes are logged and approved.
• Implement security configuration based on the established policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company’s security team.
• Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
• Preparation and submission of root‐cause analysis reports.

Key Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years experience in IT network and Technology domain.
• Bachelor or higher in IT, Computer Science, or related field or exceptional prior experience.
• Tertiary qualifications in IT Networks such as CCNP preferred Palo Alto certificates.
