Job Description

The Business Analyst within Business Lending, Consumer & Business Banking, is responsible for identifying and analyzing data and insights to support prioritized initiatives relating to acquisition and retention strategies.

You will be responsible for helping define business and customer problems, developing solutions, and identifying opportunities to improve to support the implementation of targeted growth strategies that will help Westpac become the #1 lender of choice for business.

You are responsible for:

  • Driving a disciplined approach to support the development and delivery of initiatives by working alongside stakeholders across the business to deliver performance outcomes in line with the organizational strategy
  • Work alongside stakeholders as directed to analyze and validate information and data and communicate and manage requirements
  • Defining business processes and identifying opportunities for improvement to support the realization of a seamless customer experience across all stages of the customer journey.
  • Assisting with the management and analysis of performance data to provide reporting and other support to track initiatives against the plan to ensure that business and customer outcomes are realized
  • Partner with business stakeholders and subject matter experts across the organization to ensure propositions and initiatives meet regulatory and compliance requirements.

What do I need?


  • Data extraction, analytic, and presentation skills are essential (Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project)
  • Business and/or technology tertiary qualifications (desirable)
  • A strong understanding of technology and business systems strategically and operationally
  • Operations experience and understanding (highly desirable)


  • 4+ years of Banking and/or Operational experience. For example:
  • Data extraction & management skills
  • Analytical skills
  • Working with Microsoft products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Share Point)
  • Account reconciliation skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Stakeholder management
  • Attention to detail
  • Time management skills
  • Report & presentation writing


  • Financial/Banking industry experience in remediation projects
  • Experience in Agile project delivery (desirable)
  • Understanding and knowledge of the business segments assisted sales channels and strong commercial acumen.
  • Strong governance and risk management experience.
