Position Summary
The Program Assistant will fulfill administrative and organizational functions within the Richard Gilder Graduate School in support of the education and research mission of the RGGS and AMNH.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Maintaining and organizing digital and paper records.
- Gathering and compiling information for reports.
- Preparing draft documents and ensuring RGGS-wide document accuracy.
- Data entry and record processing.
- Website maintenance.
- Assistance with events.
- General office-related duties such as meeting preparation, filing, copying, printing, supply inventory, and other tasks as required.
The expected salary range for the Program Assistant is $43,000 – 50,000. This position is overtime eligible and the AMNH offers an extensive benefits package designed to meet the needs of our dedicated and diverse community.
Pay will be determined based on several factors. The hiring range for the position at commencement is based on the type of work and the scope of responsibilities.

The salary and placement offered are based on a number of individualized factors, including, but not limited to, skills, knowledge, training, education, credentials, areas of specialization, and depth and scope of experience.
Required Qualifications
- 1-3 years of administrative support experience in non-profit, research, or university setting, or equivalent experience or documented skills, required.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in program operations/administrative support in a university non-profit, research or education setting.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills, and proven ability to learn new technology.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and strong written and oral communications skills.

- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
