The position of Engineer is within our Cardiometabolic Unit located in Oslo, Norway.

This role will apply engineering knowledge and skills to support the assigned department to ensure operations are being properly conducted in an efficient, safe, and environmentally responsible manner. This position shall also provide support to the production team in all quality-related questions on a daily basis. This job description will be reviewed periodically and is subject to change by management.


  • Laboratory worker in the production of solutions and goods/components for Assembly Afinion and NycoCard
  • Professional and practical insight into relevant processes Plan, execute, and report productions
  • Professional and practical insights into general laboratory processes necessary to conduct laboratory and production
  • Assist R&D as project employee in relevant development projects and improvement projects if applicable
  • Ensure the necessary procurement of operating material within the department’s budgets, in consultation with the manager
  • Perform production of production components for the Nycocard and Afinion products.
  • Follow and execute the site lean guidelines Initiate, investigate and document QI
  • Execute CAPA process or be a CAPA owner Writing and processing deviations and changes in own groups
  • Contribute to developing, improving, upscaling, and validating processes in the primary production field so that they are robust, with the highest degree of flexibility in production conditions and volumes
  • Use tools, digital and physical, in streamlining processes Training responsibility for new employees in laboratory tasks
  • Responsibility for specific tasks will be reflected in the employee’s training plan
  • Other duties as assigned, according to the changing needs of the business


  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry/biochemistry/process chemistry, or College of Engineering, and 2-5 years of experience from product-related work, process chemistry or R&D environment, or Master’s degree in chemistry/biochemistry/process chemistry 1-3 years of experience from product-related work, process chemistry or R&D environment o Lack of appropriate education level can be replaced/supplemented by 5 years’ internal experience in related fields


  • Good competence in biochemistry and/or surface chemistry and colloid chemistry
  • Good knowledge of systematic research planning Good computer skills; MS Office, ERP systems (SAP), Agile, Outlook
  • Experience working in the Medical Devices industry Knowledge of cGMP, FDA regulations (21 CFR 820), and ISO 13485
  • Familiarity with various manufacturing process technologies, process documentation, and improvements


  • Good communication skills in writing and orally, both in Norwegian and English
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to interface with cross-functional groups to define and execute overall requirements
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Self-motivated and driven personality
  • Be able to work structured, systematically, and accurately
