Full Job Description

BAFTA is seeking a new Production Assistant to join its busy content team

Job Purpose:

BAFTA is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and hard-working Production Assistant to support the content team. The role is a fixed-term position and will be working across filming and production of BAFTA’s award ceremonies and additional content filming throughout the duration of the contract.

The individual we are looking for should demonstrate excellent organizational skills, be a clear and concise communicator, and have an interest in production, with a keen eye for detail. They will need to be motivated and eager to learn.

The role will require working across all of our award ceremonies and supporting the wider team.

These ceremonies take place on the following dates and the assistant will be required to work at these events, and the day prior:

Film Awards – Sunday 19th February
Games Awards – Thursday 30th March
Craft Awards – Sunday 23rd April
Television Awards – Sunday 14th May

Key responsibilities:

Assist the Production Coordinator and Production Manager with all required administration and paperwork, such as call sheets, release forms, and risk assessments
Assist the Production Manager with raising and issuing POs and tracking invoices
Organize meetings, and manage calendars and Zoom invites.
Book crew cars and accommodation for Events nights
Liaise with the crew to gather any accreditation details and dietary details for OBs and VT Shoots
Work on-site across the awards and any associated shoots
Responsible for general office duties and admin within the Team
Support BAFTA’s sustainability goals and champion our sustainability policy and oversee Albert’s certification

Ideally, you will have:

A practical understanding of Microsoft word and operating systems
Understanding of basic production paperwork i.e. Call Sheets, Release Forms
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong organizational skills and time management
Experience in live production
A keen eye for detail and am a capable proofreader
Experience in working to deadlines
Flexible approach and ability to adapt to changing priorities

Ideally, you will be:

Be passionate, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable about live production
Flexible with working styles and able to work across different projects at the same time
Interested in a career in production management
Confident and keen to learn new skills and software to support the production management team accordingly
Being willing to work unusual hours was advised by the Production Manager as necessary
Thrive when working in the office as part of a team but also be confident at working remotely
Be driven to produce excellent work
Have an interest in sustainability and limiting the impact productions have on the environment
