Working alongside some of the world’s top minds on the forefront of climate and sustainability strategy. You will play a leading role in the growth of our Climate & Sustainability business area and collaborate closely.
As our new expert consultant, you’ll play a leading role in the growth of our Climate & Sustainability area. Your primary objective will be to lead and support the execution of assignments related to the topics above by:
- Working closely with BCG and client leaders, bringing your deep expertise to the team
- Supporting or leading case teams who are in need of an expert, hands-on approach
- Driving constructive dialogues with client leaders on how to capitalize – as well as coaching client teams on the benefits and usage of specific sustainable energy solutions
- Engaging with vendors to assess the costs, value, and fit for the client’s requirements
BCG’s Expert Consultants deliver next-level impact for BCG’s most complex and ground-breaking client challenges. Expert Consultants focus on developing BCG’s thought leadership, commercial capabilities, and intellectual property assets.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS AND AREAS OF EXPERTISE
We are looking for talent across the career ladder from consultant to senior manager. Common for your qualifications are typically
- Clear domain expertise in one or more of the areas listed below – from either academic or industrial background
- Experience with management consulting and advisory is a clear advantage, or alternatively experience from commercial and external facing roles in the industry
- Strong passion for and proven track record in driving impact in high-performance organizations.
ESG Strategy and Corporate Sustainability
Sustainable and impact investing strategy across all sectors, ESG Finance and capital markets, ESG accounting, impact due diligence, ESG integration, and net-zero strategy in financial institutions or consumer-facing industries.
Carbon accounting and decarbonization
GHG protocol and corporate decarbonization, supplier, and ecosystem decarbonization across sectors from heavy industry to consumer and banking. Scope 3 emissions reduction through supply chain and procurement.
Hydrogen & Power-to-X
Low carbon and Hydrogen/fuel cell/e-fuel strategy within the energy, chemicals, metals & mining, engineered processed goods, aerospace & defense, automotive, and agriculture. Experience with hydrogen technology, hydrogen application, and markets.
Carbon Technologies and Markets
Market assessment, commercial development, and technology maturation of projects and business in carbon capture, utilization and storage across point sources, direct air capture, and a multitude of storage and utilization options.
Renewables, Electrification, and Power Systems
Strategies on wind, solar, and frontier renewables generation. Power grid investments for energy transition and policy/regulatory recommendations. Advising on installations of power grid operators to facilitate.
Sustainable transformations. Distributed energy resources (DER), EV vehicles and charging, electrification of industrial processes, onsite electricity generation, and corporate renewables procurement.
Circularity, recycling, and waste
Climate and circularity strategies, circular initiatives for different sectors, analysis of recycling processes, and recovery efforts. Experience with implementing circular economy practices moving from value chains to value cycles and shaping.
Biofuels and Bioenergy
Experience in the use of biomass for energy including advising on sustainability issues and carbon emissions, bioenergy technologies, costs, regulations, economic impacts, and environmental and life cycle assessment. An understanding of government policies relating to biomass, biofuels, and heat markets.
