Job Description

Constantin Film, Penguin Random House, and many other leaders in entertainment and publishing. Wattpad WEBTOON Studios is seeking three motivated, exceptional Development Interns to support each of the TV, Film, and Animation divisions of its North American entertainment business.
An exciting opportunity for aspiring creatives and those passionate about developing a deeper context for the industry, each role will carry out a combination of administrative and creative tasks for the assigned division, while also liaising with the broader Studio team to support our North American acceleration.
Ideal candidates will possess a strong eye for great stories and their potential, clear interpersonal excellence, and a high capacity to learn.
These three positions are each six-month internship with the possibility of extension. To be considered for one of the roles, please submit your resume and a cover letter indicating your preferred placement (TV / Film / Animation) that details your entertainment background and love for storytelling.
What you’ll be doing
- Work on all aspects of the (TV, film, or animation) development process, all the way from creative conceptualization to production.
- Assist the development team in identifying which Wattpad and WEBTOON series are best suited for audiovisual adaptation.
- Study and learn about Hollywood buyers, their mandates, and what audiences they’re targeting.
- Provide support in building pitch materials (decks) on projects for both internal and external purposes.
- In collaboration with other interns, circulate a daily Hollywood Newsletter within the entertainment team.
- Track major festivals, comic conventions, and related entertainment events/opportunities.
- Manage databases of potential buyers, partners, and co-producers.
- Read and provide coverage on incoming script submissions.
- Perform writer availability checks for projects in development on a need basis.
- Create relevant writer/director/actor lists—and up-and-coming talent.
- Other administrative functions you would expect while working at a desk of a production company or agency, such as scheduling, project tracking, database management, and other supporting functions.
What we’re looking for
- Possess and ability to convey passion for Hollywood and pop culture.
- Excellent development skills and a strong understanding of storytelling.
- Strong communication skills and etiquette.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. PowerPoint gurus are welcome!
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and team player who goes above and beyond the call of duty.
- Demonstrate an ability to deliver solutions, make calls, and be proactive.
- Demonstrate an ability to juggle multiple creative projects and prioritize work without missing deadlines.
- Experience in development at a major entertainment entity, agency, or production company is a major plus.
