The Role
To work within the Paint Department preparing and spraying vehicles to customers’ individual requirements.
The Person
An individual who will take real pride in the work they produce, ensuring customers have the best possible experience of using or owning a Morgan. An eye for detail and the ability to work to the highest possible quality standards, as part of a small team is vital.
Main Duties
This list is not exhaustive or inclusive. Working within a small team you will be expected to be flexible and adaptable and undertake any work required within your skillset.
- Sand panels to remove any file/grinding marks.
- Apply filler as required, flat and shape.
- Prepare and clean vehicle, mix and apply primer.
- Mix correct volumes of primer, activator, and hardener and apply 2 coats prior to baking.
- Inspect and rectify any imperfections.
- Remove dust and inspect.
- Clean and tack off and apply wet on wet primer.
- Use electronic scales to mix correct volumes of color, activator, and thinners.
- Apply color and bake.
Occasional Duties
- Rectification of scratches and dents/re-work.
- Restoration and repair work to older vehicles when necessary.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required
- To have undertaken a Vehicle Body Craft Studies course. PPG Autocolor paint specialist course or other motor factors courses.
- To have proven experience in the automotive environment.
- On-going training will be provided with any change of process or materials.
